From trials and subpoenaing of crisis notes to assassinations, this year’s European Union committee truly had it all. Coordinated by senior CCWA member and Jeremy Corbyn impersonator Drew Niccum, the EU committee provided delegates with the opportunity to use their knowledge on foreign affairs to solve geopolitical crises throughout the EU member states. But like all good crisis committees, ours evolved into a story much more exciting and diabolical than we could have dreamed. Our session, of course, ended in the total destruction of the EU with nuclear warfare breaking out across the continent. Even though our delegates didn’t achieve the most favorable diplomatic solution, they succeeded in forming new friendships, enhancing their knowledge of European politics, and making memories that will last throughout their academic careers.
